I saw the reviews on TA and resolved to take this tour.
When I looked on their website
I saw that the usual start time was 6 pm from the Guildhall.
That is not a time I
would choose to embark on a 90-120 minute walking tour.
I sent them an e-mail explaining
that I would love to do the tour and gave them the dates of my visit to Worcester
and asked whether alternative tour times were possible.
They replied promptly and
give me a whole list of alternative times on the dates of my visit. So I chose a
1030 am start. I was advised that the cost of the tour was £5 pp and was payable
to the guide on the day.
We arrived at the Guildhall at the allotted time and were
greeted by our guide Paul.
It transpired that there were no others on that tour and
it was therefore a private tour for just myself and my wife. It doesn't get any better
than that
It was brilliant. Paul was a superb guide. So knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
The
receptionist in our hotel, when told that we were taking the tour, said that every
guest who had taken the tour said how good it was and that she would like to take
it herself.
At the conclusion of a fascinating 90 minute meander through the incredible
history of Worcester, Paul said that the price was £10. A 90 minute private guided
tour with an incredibly knowledgeable, personable and enthusiastic guide for £5 each!!!
Needless to say I paid him considerably more than £10 - but he was clearly happy
to have been paid just that amount.
Highly recommended - you truly must do this. Thank
You Paul
