HISTORY OF FOOD & DRINK

COSTUMED INTERPRETATION & COOKERY DEMONSTRATIONS

Helen and Paul can attend your event and demonstrate live cooking on an open fire or create and add the finishing touches to recipes inside a building. With all the pots, pans and gadgets, we can demonstrate the love of food and drink on both sides of the social spectrum. This can be delivered wearing period costume or our corporate uniform.

Helen is covered by a Food Hygiene Certificate so should you like, visitors can sample the foods on offer. All foods produced come with a printed recipe sheet so visitors can see the ingredients included as well as take photos of the recipe to try for themselves at home.

Please take a look at the period specific ages for a list of options, though nothing is too much trouble, so should you have an event or idea in mind, Helen is happy to research and work to your needs.

FOOD FESTIVALS & COOKERY THEATRE SHOWS

Helen has been a great addition to many a food festival where she has recreated age old recipes. From delivering Roman cookery in the main stage food theatre at Droitwich Food Festival to demonstrating the use of cherries through history at Bewdley Cherry Festival, nothing is too big a challenge. The history of food and drink is quite often a forgotten idea for some events and Helen and Paul love the opportunity in bringing dishes of the past back to life. Not only has Helen been filmed as a period cook but she is a regular speaker on radio. Whatever your needs, Helen is more than happy to fulfil the brief.

TRAINING & CONSULTANCY

Helen can help advise and educate not just on how to cook historical recipes but how to interpret the historic kitchen too. This has been used as a tool to help train volunteers at historic properties and visitor attractions, but the opportunities for this service are endless.
